Compassionate care of your animals in life and death is important. For this reason, Osborne Homestead Services goes well beyond common industry practices to respectfully lay your animal to rest.
We've developed a custom removal system that ensures efficient, safe, and respectful handling of your animals from anywhere — pastures, stalls, ravines, trailers, or difficult terrain. Your animal is never winched or dragged directly.
A two-person team carefully places the deceased animal onto our specialized rescue skid, ensuring it is securely strapped in place with a harness system designed for this purpose.
The winch is attached to the skid — never directly to the animal. This is the critical difference between our method and common industry practice. No winching, no dragging, no trauma.
Our hydraulic drop-deck trailer lowers completely to the ground — no ramp, no incline. The skid is positioned on the level trailer bed, then hydraulically raised for secure transport to the location of your choice.

After your animal is safely secured on our trailer, we transport them to the final resting place of your choice. We offer four options to accommodate your wishes.
For owners who prefer a straightforward option, we handle removal and transport to a licensed waste management facility for proper, regulated disposal.
This is often chosen when burial on property isn't practical and cremation isn't the right fit. Performed under our state collection licenses in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.
We will safely transport your animal to a licensed pet cemetery of your choosing, ensuring they are delivered with dignity for their final resting place.
Our team can dig a professional-grade grave on your property (typically 10 feet long, 6 feet wide, and 7–9 feet deep), lower the animal into position, and carefully bury the remains.
